Affiliation
Pack. Curran is the Beast Lord. Tremble.
Specialty
While Curran’s physical power is overwhelming, he rarely has to use to it. He’s observant and shrewd and tends to use diplomacy and intimidation, breaking into violence only as last resort. He moves extremely quietly and enjoys sneaking up on Kate.

Thats an awesome description of Curran and funny. Will you tell a little about his background. Like where he grew up give us a snippet please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A tad. Something.Like where he grew up or something.Past lovers and how they compare to Kate. hmmmmm……………..
I just finished Magic Strikes and am so in love with Curran! I hope him and Kate get together!!
Okay so I was curious about what Curran’s last name meant so I looked it up. I should have known Ilona and Gordon are so thorough . . .
Lennart ~ Swedish: Bold as a lion.
Curran is so sexy. The whole alpha male thing mixed with how sweet he is on Kate makes him irrestable. Yuuummm.
Will we ever find out why Curran’s nose was broken and didn’t quite heal properly? There must be a story behind it. Love the books btw.
Here’s the thing that I really, really like…Curran and Kate are badasses extreme, but when they’re together, they’re like children sometimes..Curran is just baffled by Kate, and Kate gets nervous and shoots her mouth off whenever she’s in front of him…it just gives me the giggles…like there’s this part in book three where Kate is straddling Curran and is denying the UST they have, “…you want to strangle me..” and Curran is defensive saying “it was one time” or something like that. God, that slayed me…
and bravo! Curran always get’s the most I-can’t-believe-he-said-that lines, seriously…the “thank you and please”…I coughed on a muffin reading that…it almost killed me…and I spewed orange juice all over my assignment papers over “not necessarily, you fall on your hands and knees if you prefer…”…see, I even remember it at the top of my head…oh….I LOVE THESE SERIES!!! And CURRAN…he is so jerkishly adorable *gushes*
Will we ever find out what happened to his nose? That would be an interesting story. Hint hint wink wink.
I was wondering about that too… regarding Curran’s past, I mean. He just showed up out of nowhere at 16, straightened the pack out and became the Beast Lord… I’m really intrigued as to how he got to that point.
What kind of last name is Lennart? French? Cajun? Curran’s kinda Frenchy, huh?
I would love to know how Curran’s past lovers compare to Kate and where he grew up. will you tell a little about his family iI’m sure we all would like to know that
What I want to know is what attracts Curran and Kate so much to each other… I love them. I am so ready to them to get it on, the teasers are driving me crazy. Can they really be together with Curren being a were? I want them to be together.
OMG I love this series. Especally how Kate and Curran drive each other crazy yet how they can’t stay away. Its so awesome at the end of the third book when she destroys the sword then he comes and rescues her. More back ground information about both of them would be great. Oh and I can’t wait to see how their dinner goes. I have a feeling it will be funny.
I want to see what Curran looks like in his human form. I don’t think my imagination is doing him justice.
Lennart ~ Swedish: Bold as a lion.
*sigh*
He moves extremely quietly and enjoys sneaking up on Kate.
If only Kate could read this description…
I can’t wait till their dinner it will be so funny. I can see Kate trying to kill him or spilling something hot on his lap. if you need cheering up these are the books to read or if you just want a good laugh.
Wow. Im from Sweden. Except that Lennart is a common name among men, I didn´t have a single clue what it meant.
I love your books and can’t wait for the next one in the series. I hope Kate and Curran get together at some point. I finished the 3 books for a week and my husband and my kids were not happy with me.
Well done and keep it up. The books are great.
Curran is the Beast Lord. Tremble.
Ha!
I know. Favorite part of his description.
Love the Favorite Mode of Fighting section. It describes him perfectly
I am fascinated with Curran. I know there is so much more to him. He has too much power. How come he is the only one? I can’t help but think of him as the son of a god or a descendant, but I can’t figure out who. Curran deserves a background build-up just as much as Kate. He’s just as important to this story. I love how you revealed Andrea’s past in Magic Mourns. Amazing work, you two. It’s like I’m stuck in a trance while reading your books. It’s its own kind of magic.
By my question “How come he’s the only one?” I meant, how come he’s the only one that can control his shape so impeccably? His character is simply amazing.
I can’t wait for the next book to see how *spoiler* Curran justifies, or if he even tries to justify, missing their dinner.
I love these books!! I agree with everyone that I can’t wait to see where Curran and Kate will go as a couple. There interactions keep me laughing to the point I get weird looks if I’m in a public place reading. Can’t wait for book Magic Bleeds. LOL it should be interesting to see Curran squirm.
I love these books and I love Curran as a character. I especially love how well you have captured some of key behaviors of large cats and incorporated them into his human behaviors and personality traits. I love the interplay between Kate and him. Anything more we learn about him will be fabulous. Thanks for such great books and can’t wait for the next installments!
The first three books left me with sleepless nights esp. I was in my 8 month of pregnancy and wanted to finish all these books before the baby arrives. I fell in love with Curran and his teasing and arrogance together makes him so darn gorgeous. Kate makes the perfect match to Current. 2010 is way too long for the fourth part, Magic bleeds.
I am in Ilona Andrews land, I read all three books over the week-end. Who needs sleep ? I just could not put them down, what a fantastic world you have built! Curran is a wonderful character, I hope that we see more of his history in future books.. I do wish them together but you know best…I just bought On The Edge, love the Inuyasha manga bit, another great series, hurry and write !
Okay, I just finished reading “On the Edge” loved it. But at the end I read the sneak peak for the next Kate Daniels book and I pissed at Curren. I know their not real, but once you read a good book, you kind of get sucked into the universe. I will tell you that is has me on pins and needles for the book to come out so I can finish it and see what his excuse is. For Kate, it had better be a life-threatening reason, or she may never, ever give him a chance again. That would suck. The sexual tension in these books has got to explode some time.
I got pissed at Kate because she won’t return his feelings and they keep playing a cat and mouse game. No woman is THAT stubborn.
I love the books and the sexual tension between Kate and Curran. I am laughing at the parts where they are together more than I have ever laughed at a book. Can’t wait for the next one!!
I like how Curran makes himself so available to Kate even though she seems to keep such a huge gap between herself and others. I hope that there relationship build to more in the next book. Looking forward to more books in the series. I am a book-aholic.
Where does Curran live? Does he have his own private room in the Keep or does he have an apartment somewhere? Or maybe a hidden lair.
how do people no that curran will miss the dinner??
I also can’t wait for the next book, Kate seems like someone who is prone to holding grudges, in this case with good reason and I am desperate to know the reason that Curran wouldn’t even talk to her. It seems to be too cowardly for someone as confident as he is, and I hope nothing bad happened to him that the pact is covering up.
Can we please have one about Derek. – Heart Derek!!!
We know that Curran misses his dinner because the first part of Magic Bleeds is at the end of On the Edge.
My Guess for why he misses the dinner is that it has something to do with why/how Kate recovered so fast from the mortal stomach wound she received in the third book.
Just read Magic Mourns. Is Teddy Jo suggesting Curran is more than just a Shapeshifter?
My guess is that Curran is protecting Kate from something. He is trying to keep her from coming to see him at the compound. I wonder if the disease she discovers has already infected the shifters and Curran is trying to keep her away as he cares for his people.
I love Curran. Everything from his obey-me-or else attitute to his ‘you I love everything about Curran from his obey-me attitude to the you will say please before and thank you after. He is the type of guy women just drool over themselves to just look at, let alone date.
The whole dinner thing really made me angry. Kate just doesn’t get close to people. I believe he either A) knows who Kate is and who her father is (at least knows that she has necromancer blood B) The disease that Kate is trying to stop is in the keep or C) He just doesn’t care about Kate and blew her off. A and B seem more likely as Curran did every possible thing to save Kate in the third book.
One thing, aside from the above
Sorry… What’s with he a ‘half breed’ thing? I believe it’s the first book when the female necro (people)(rolands old mistress) says it about Curran. Does it mean he’s not a total were? I am reaaly curious.
I was wondering about that to. I read the excerpt in the back of On the Edge, which was awsome-hope there is a second, and it was like WHAT!!! I can’t wait till the 4th one comes out!
Am so curious about the half breed hint and the older magic stuff. … It seems such a long long time to wait!!
So funny!
I actually love the fact
that we never get to see him in human
form on the cover.
LOVE the books, by the way
I really want to see what Curann looks like. I like to have faces to names. Also, is it possible that maybe Curann and Kate could hook up. That would be an awesome ending. The third book was very VERY hot. Keep it up pleaaaaaaaaase!!!!
Okay Im just going to ignore that it says he’s 5′11” cause for him to be the dream guy in my head he has to be at least 6′2” considering im about 5′11” without shoes!
I LOVE CURRAN
i think Curran and Kate should hook up finaly we have all been waiting for it plz make it happen
I’m officially hooked. I have been shopping for more urban fantasy series to follow because new ones never come out fast enough to keep me happy. Most of the ones I have tried I hated, and I thought this was going to be another because it was hard to get into the first one. Fortunately, I have an aversion to leaving a book unfinished, and I am glad I stuck with it! I finished #1 last night, and I went straight to the bookstore to buy the rest of the series. It is now 2 pm the next day and I just finished #3 and I am about to go back to the bookstore for Magic Mourns and On the Edge. I adore Curran & Kate and I got so many funny looks from my kids during Magic Strikes. I haven’t laughed so hard at a book since I encountered Kim Harrison’s line-dancing vampires (Living Dead Girl indeed)
BTW, does anyone have any recommendations for other UF series? I love Kim Harrison’s Rachel Morgan series, the first half of Laurell Hamilton’s Anita Blake series, and Keri Arthur’s Riley Jensen series. I also follow Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse, Kay Hooper’s FBI Psychics, and Kelley Armstrong’s Women of the Otherworld, although I don’t enjoy them quite as much.
try the RainesBeneres series by Lisa Shearin. It has elves, goblins and demons lots of magic everywhere. I love Kate she is hilarious especially when dealing with Curran or at least trying to deal with him. Can’t wait for may
I am curious about his past and why Olathe and Bran kept on referring to him as the whore son, or son of a whore….
“Pack. Curran is the Beast Lord. Tremble”. lol @ Tremble + ” Enjoys sneeking up on Kate” I especially loved the scene in magic strikes @ the caffee where kate, andrea and raphael ate and he came up behind her while she talkedabout him (foreplay or grooming?)….
Great reads. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the series. The dynamics between Kate & Curran are pretty realistic probably due to having a husband/wife writing team that allows for both viewpoints. I enjoy all of the characters. Alpha males are fun to read about but I certainly don’t want one for myself. I’ll enjoy them via your storytelling.
